Must See College Basketball: #5 Duke vs. Temple plus Hall recap

Seton Hall defeated Connecticut 75-63

The Pirates looked better than expected tonight against the Huskies. They played hard all game and really out classed the young Huskies. After a quick flurry to open the game by U-Conn, the Pirates took over and really never looked back. Beyond all of that, I think this team is very talented. Farquan Edwin (12 points) is uber quick and Herb Pope (15 points) definitely has a presence about him up the middle. After a slow start Jordan Theodore took over the game in the second half distributing 11 assists and scoring 19 himself.  Seton Hall is now 2-1 in the Big East and 13-2 overall.

#5 Duke @ Temple Jan 4, 2012 7 pm EST.

I’ll tune in to this game to check out the Temple Owls (9-3) even though this is not a conference battle. I’m not a huge ACC fan, so I’d usually pass on a Duke game but this is a good test for Temple. Duke already has victories over Michigan State, Kansas, and Michigan and is well on its way to being a top seed once again. Temple does have wins over Villanova and Rice this season and a victory here could be a signature win come selection Sunday. The Owls top players seem to be Senior Ramone Moore who is averaging 17.9 points a game and 6-11 senior Michael Eric who is in double digit rebounds per game. Now, I don’t really know what to expect from the Owls in the Atlantic 10 this season but they usually compete so watching them take on a perennial powerhouse like the BlueDevils will clue us in asto not only their ability but also possibly their conference rivals.
