Blogging, Family, Saving, and Getting Serious

It’s 2016 and it’s a new year. It was time to shut down our beloved I’m Not Obsessed after a decade and it’s also time for me to spend more time developing this site. I’ve been doing it for a bit, and I’ve been helping Vera with the business since 2008, so I’m pretty well adjusted for the most part. With more time freed up from INO going bye bye, I really hope to put up more and better content here.

In addition to working on GAB more, I also am making a much more conscious effort to spend quality time with the kids.I know that sounds like a cliche but I mean it. I want less time at the laptop and more time with them, even if it’s just vegging and watching a movie. I want to play and read more with Caleb before he’s in school. I want to do more with Natalie and Liam before they are teens. I want to spend more time with Vera without the kids. I even want to spend more time with Jack since we all know time is fleeting since Jilly’s passing.

Finally, I want to really buckle down and be much more disciplined financially. I’ve been making my egg sandwiches and coffee and not buying it. I’m re-upping with a new 401K for Vera and me and putting some more money into investments again. It’s time to get real and it’s time to understand that I’m almost 40 and life moves quickly. No more putzing around.

So there it is. Hope it’s not too boring. It’s the truth and it’s life and it’s what I’m about this year and beyond. Oh yeah, and I’m exercising and eating better again…no more fattiness.

It’s 2016 and it’s time for changes. It’s time to get serious. How about you?
