Nest optional 1 (1)

It’s 2016 and everything is “smart” and connected. Your smartphone connects you to the world and, increasingly, to your home. You can get just about everything done via app these days. Track your health vitals, order food, grab a taxi, order coffee, and check in on your house with video cameras. You can realy be connected, smart, and very comfortable these days, all with the touch of a button or the share of a thumbprint.

While ordering Thai food quickly and without cash is pretty sweet, technology should be used to really put yourself and your family in a better place. Current tech offers an amazing way to smarten up your house in a way that makes it more comfortable, more energy efficient, and more wallet friendly as well (to buy some more tech and apps I guess).

Have you heard of Nest?? Nest is home. The founders love home and really wanted to make the home so much better, and more lovable. The idea was to take the technology that powers things like your smartphone – and embed it inside important, unloved products. It worked, really well, because we all want the same things: to save energy, keep our families safe, and keep an eye on what matters most. Nest strives to address all of those needs, while looking at these old problems in a new way.

Nest is focused on making simple, human, delightful things. That’s how they’re creating the thoughtful home: A home that takes care of the people inside it and the world around it.

The Nest Learning Thermostat (SKU: 4346501) at Best Buy is one of those delightful things and it’s pretty amazing. It’s something that not too long ago would have been considered to be science fiction.

Just take a look at this video!

Pretty crazy, right? In case you missed it, here are the Primary uses and benefits:

  1. Convenient customization:
    • Within a week, Nest starts programming itself to the temperatures you like
    • Auto-away mode automatically switches to an energy-efficient temp when you’re not home
    • Dynamic sensors follow your activity, manage humidity, and keep an eye on the weather to best keep a comfortable climate
  2. Save Money on Energy Bills:
    • Track how much energy you’ve used and follow tips that will help you conserve
    • Make an energy-saving temperature adjustment and the Nest Leaf will notify you immediately
  3. Remote Access:
    • Use the iOS or Android apps to control your home’s temperature from anywhere or to access alerts and reminders from your nest (service reminders, notifications if something isn’t working, warnings that your home is too hot or too cold)

The convenience, the slickness, and the savings in energy and money is so impressive that it’s hard not to get excited about this. It’s also that much more comforting to be in total control of your home. For $249, it’s really a steal given all the savings you are setting yourself up for in the coming months and years. It’s a home run and a really valuable and great use for all the amazing technology were are increasingly surrounding ourselves with. Just think about all the 2-day delivery doggie treats and “in-app purchase” video games you can pick up with all of that saved dinero!!!

Pick up the Nest, then download the Nest iOS app or Android app to control manage and customize your Nest Thermostat. You’ll be blown away by how cool it is.
