Think Best Buy and LG Twin Wash and Sidekick This Earth Day #bbyed #EarthDay

Earth Day is today and it’s time to get all eco-friendly wit’ it. Conserving our resources is a noble goal, isn’t it? We can all do this is many ways. We can drive more efficient cars, or even walk a little bit more. We can swap out our lights with more efficient LEDs. We can use smart tech like a Nest thermostat and motion sensors to turn the lights on in our homes. We can also be much more efficient when we are doing our chores. I do a lot of laundry…a lot of laundry…and I just know there are some savings and some lost efficiencies there for many people.

As I started to look into it, I found a ton of great options. My favorite option (given that I absolutely adore our recent fridge and dishwasher additions) has to be the new LG Twin Wash and Sidekick Laundry Pair. The best place I’ve found to pick it up…Best Buy. Best Buy has the latest in Energy Star and water efficient appliances from entry-level to premium to help you save time and money. There are completely tricked out for Earth Day, too…just check it out!!!

So what’s so special about Energy Star appliances, especially washers and dryers?

Ok, here’s the deal with this awesome LG washer and dryer, along with other Energy Start certified washers and dryers. Main benefit, is that they use less energy and less water, which is better for the earth and for your wallet. You like your wallet, don’t you? You’d like it to be as fat as he can be, don’t you? Of course you do.

Take the washer. Over the year, on average, you will be saving $40 a year on your utility bills and saving more than 3,000 gallons of water per year compared to a standard model! If your washer is older than 10 years, the savings are even higher. That’s crazy talk.

What about the dryer you say? I say that you will use 20 percent less energy than conventional models without sacrificing features or performance. I say Bam. Want to know whats to save? Use sensor drying, not timed drying to detect moisture and ensure that your dryer will automatically shut off when clothes are dry. Also check out the low heat setting. Longer drying cycles on a low heat setting use less energy. Finally, consider using a gas dryer to save money and reduce your environmental impact.. We use it and we love it.

So why did we settle on the LG Twin Wash & Sidekick?

Mostly, aside from the Energy Star awesomeness, it’s all about getting the job done as efficiently as I can. I’m not a huge fan of doing laundry, so the quicker I can get it done, the better. By far.

The benefits are twofold. First, the TurboWash 2.0 feature saves up to 30 minutes on larger loads with outstanding cleaning performance. Dope. Second, the Sidekick can pair with almost any LG front load unit. You can wash smaller loads without having to waste water by using the main unit. In other words, these babies let you do two loads at once, faster. I mean, c’mon baby, that’s serious. Didn’t think it was even possible…but, alas young clothing washer, it is. You can get the job done and get on with what matters more…and I’m all about that given my chaotic life.

There’s even more amazing info about these machines that I’ll let you tackle yourself. Get as technical and laundry-nerd as you want to be. Check out all the info here!

Well…what do you think?  Is this not a brilliant way to celebrate Earth Day this year? Maybe, save some cash day? How about spend less time doing laundry month? I think I’m down to celebrate all of these.
