Water is the source of life, right? It’s to important, it’s not really something that can be measured. Clean drinking water for you and your family is paramount to just about anything else. The current issue facing many Americans is that the nation’s new normal involves water from your tap maybe not being as clean as you think and expect. From old water mains to treatment shortcomings, many communities are facing a major issue. When water leaves your city or town’s treatment facility it has the opportunity to pick up contaminants along its path to your kitchen faucet. This is why I’ve decided to gladly partner with PUR® to talk about the benefits of their faucet filtration system.

So, how do we ensure that our water is as clean as possible? There are a few options, like having a water cooler, or buying bottled water, but that can be very expensive. There are also a number of water filters out there, which can be good as long as you go with the right brand. Some just aren’t as good as others. Over the years, I’ve tried a number of filters, and my favorite has been PUR.

PUR is the authority on superior contaminant removal from your water, leaving it clean and safe and is dedicated now more than ever to giving consumers options to ensure they are drinking safer, cleaner water from their taps. Impressively, PUR is certified to reduce over 70 contaminants, including 99 percent of lead, 96 percent of mercury and 92 percent of certain pesticides (more than any other brand). PUR is also certified to reduce chlorine (taste & odor), microbial cysts, as well as certain industrial pollutants and the only faucet filter to reduce certain pharmaceutical compounds. This is just awesome. You can’t overstate how important this is, really.

If you’re not sure how your water is and if you even need to filter your water, I have a really easy and immersive way to find out and get important information. It’s pretty amazing, actually. Go to and take the interactive experience where you can learn more about your own water – and the journey it takes from source to tap. is a proprietary website that uses public water quality data received from the EPA (which gets it’s information from local municipalities) to help educate consumers on the journey of water from source to treatment to tap, and allows users to easily learn what’s in their water. You will find out about your closest water source, about levels of lead in your water, and about the specific treatments performed to your water prior to leaving the plant. You really should check this out, it’s so easy and so important.

If knowing about your water wasn’t enough, after you visit, share your experience in a comment (see form below) for a chance to win a $50 gift card and PUR® Advanced Faucet Filter!! View the Rafflecopter below to see more!
