Being a teenager or even a tween today is no easy feat, but neither trying to understand them. Believe me, it gets harder and harder for us to connect with Natalie. She’s growing up so fast, and it seems to get faster and faster with each passing day. I mean, what is happening to my little girl?!?!?!
While there are a myriad of ways for parents to try and connect with teens (I still have a year to go for that!!), according to a recent study by Netflix 83% of parents have watched a show their teen has seen to feel closer to them. The biggest surprise? 74% of teens are willing to open up and talk to their parents about the shows they watch. With entertainment as a common ground, parents and teens can bridge the conversation gap and tackle tough topics, whether you have a 12 year old or a 19 year old!!
One show that can’t seem come soon enough for us is Anne—Netflix’s new adaption of the beloved book Anne of Green Gables! The first full-length trailer shows us how the show may play out. Anne is very smart, spunky, and strong, but she’s up against it all in her adopted new town. It’s pretty much like Middle School for Natalie, so she is all in!!! I think this will be awesome, showing her how she can deal with any situation, as tough or impossible as it may seem. May 12 can’t come soon enough. Help me!!
