Drive Your Best Drive in Lexus LC500-Style

People like to say “live your best life” and I can only agree with that. Be it doing well at work, with your business, as a spouse or parent, or just about anything else, you always want to make the most of what precious time we have on this Earth. It makes sense, but not always easy to do.

I’m not here to tell you about parenting, world travel, or being the best at calculus, but I am here to tell you about one specific but very powerful way you can live that life to the fullest. I’d like to think of it as “drive your best drive” and it’s all about the Lexus LC500. I was more than excited to test drive this amazing car, courtesy of Lexus, for an awesome and fun-filled week.

I’ve driven my share of nice cars, but this car really stands out in a number of ways. For the week I had that car, man, I was living the life. My kids begged for me to take them in the car. Their friends did, too. People literally would stop and look at me when I drove down the block. Every time I took that car for a spin, the world felt like my oyster. No really, it was awesome. The car looks amazing, drives like crazy, and really makes for even the most ho-hum drive to the market an adventure. The accolades I could lay on this car are seemingly endless, but I’m going to go you some of the details right now. Buckle up, baby.

The overall look of the car is just flat-out impressive. It screams speed, luxury, and sophistication. There is no mistaking that the LC500 is a real-deal car with an impressive list of features. It’s clear, something that looks this good just has to be great. And it is. The engineering and design of this car really makes it stands apart, uniting beauty with purpose.

Once you slide inside, the low-slung, cockpit-like interior has the rich look of performance, comfort and design. You can just feel like you are in for a fun and exciting ride. The eight-way power front seats, the leather wrapped heated steering wheel, the aluminum pedals, paddle gear shifters (automatic), and the hi-tech look and feel of the dash gives you the feeling that you are in a true sports car. Even the pop out door handles are super cool!

The next thing that envelopes you is the high level of technology in the car. The 10.3 inch split screen multi-media is easy to view and use, with everything you could ask for right there for you, with Siri Eyes Free there to make the ride that much easier. I also really loved controlling the car with the More than a convenient way to access multimedia, climate controls and navigation, the next-generation Remote Touchpad since it really mimics smartphone operations with ample touch surface area, pulsation feedback, intuitive pinch, swipe and flick gestures—even integrating handwritten input. It was very easy and user-friendly. Throw in the Mark Levinon 12 speaker surround sound and SiriusXM and HD radio tunes, and you are rocking and rolling before you even push that button to start up you sexy new beast of a ride!

Once you are ready to ride and you hit that button, you are smacked in the face (in a very good way) with the throaty rumble of 417 horsepower V8 “rocket” engine the LC500 sports. It’s performance time. Yes, it’s automatic (sorry purists), but the 10 speed direct-shift automatic transmission with magnesium paddle shifters really cook. Ultra smooth, very powerful acceleration with 0-60MPH time of 4.4 seconds is a neck-snapping start. The ease in which I took the LC well over 60MPH was impressive and the car handled the North Shore of Long Island’s country roads like it was on rails. The ride was really smooth no matter the speed, as the car virtually hugged the road in all of the best possible ways. The best part for me was the easy-to-use custom drive mode. The Sport+ mode was the most impressive, really letting the engine rev to insane RPMs without blinking. It was super sporty, very aggressive, and so much fun.

There was even an impressive array of safety features incorporated into the car, including back up camera, rear sensors, blind spot monitor, lane shift warnings, 10 airbags, heads-up display, and more. Perhaps my favorite safety feature was the Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection. This feature is engineered to detect vehicles in your path of your Lexus then automatically preparing Brake Assist* for increased brake force, and is even designed to automatically begin braking before impact. I just love that.

There are a number of other fantastic packages possible to add even more goodies to the LC500. For all those electric vehicle aficionados, there’s even a hybrid, the LC500h!!

The Lexus LC500 is a truly amazing car with innovations in performance, design, safety, and more. The car is as impressive to drive as it is to look at as it is to sit in. There’s really nothing this car doesn’t offer in the premium performance car space. It’s really lacking in nothing and is as fun to drive as pretty much anything you could slip into. Country, city, or town…you’re good. If you are in the market for a car that will be a true pleasure and all-out BLAST to drive, then look no further.
