I’d love to share some really fun things to do with kids at home with you. During these unprecedented and uncertain times, one thing is pretty universal…we are at home. A lot. And so are the kids. They can tend to get…bored. So as parents, we need things to do with kids at home. We all know, there is only so much time you can let your kids play video games, right??

Dole’s At-Home Resources

Dole is offering FREE at-home resources for you to access online to make this time at-home a little easier. This is a great site, with a ton of great activities, recipes, and nutritional information for you and your kids to enjoy. While having a great time with your kids at home, you can also learn how to improve your health and how you can make nutrition fun for the whole family. The site is loaded, and I would love to share some of my favorites with you.

Great Kid Activities at Home

Like I mentioned, the Dole At-Home Resources site is packed with goodies. Caleb and I love to spend some time with the many printable on the site. From coloring, to crossword puzzles, to healthy eating guides, we love them all.

I mean, this site has such valuable information, it’s great. But maybe even better, it’s presented in a really easy-to-understand and fun-to-learn form. I’m talking a Dole Healthy Eating Toolkit, Fruit and Veggie Prep Hacks, a Digital Cookbook Library, and many Healthy Resources for Families.

Kids in the Kitchen Recipes

While we really have been trying a number of the fun recipes on Dole’s at-home resources page, there’s one that Caleb and I really like the most. It’s simple, easy, tasty, and looks super cool! I’m talking about the really cute Hoot Owl Sandwiches!

How awesome is this??? Seriously?!! Now, the Dole recipe calls for a really good turkey sandwich with some tasty greens. While we have made this version and like it, Caleb wanted a plain cheese sandwich with lots of extra Dole fruit this time…so how could I argue? As you can see, it’s simple. Get some great, fresh bread and cut the edges to resemble a heart. Add your meat, cheese, vegetables, and condiments as you would any sandwich. Take 2 slices of banana, a strawberry, and two blueberries to form the eyes and mouth. Use the remaining crust and triangles to form the rest of the owl. Garnish with some more beautiful fruit…and watch this baby disappear! It’s fun, it’s fast, and it something your kids’ will seek out after you make once.

Here are some more of my family’s favorite recipes I think you will love to make…and to eat!

Those Dole at home resources are awesome! Of course, I vote for cooking and baking with the kids, that is how I learned with my mom when I was young!

The fact that Dole is doing all of this during this time is awesome. I already love their fruit cups but now I’m loving them as an entire company!

that sandwich you and your son made is so impressive. Whenever I think of Dole, the first comes to my mind is Dole whips and pineapple.

So creative1 I love the food arrangements, so much fun and a very healthy option as well, given all the fruit in it.

I like how you’re innovative to make your time with your children so enjoyable and productive. Many other parents should read this and be aware of their own children’s needs
