Giving Tuesday has come and gone and I hope you participated!! It was a great day that did a lot of good for people. But even if Giving Tuesday has passed, this holiday season is still chugging along! There’s plenty of time to still give back. If you are thinking of ways that you may be able to do this, I would ask that you consider that you give back to the men and women who give up so much.
The USO
I love my country and I love the men and women that risk their lives to protect it. It’s a simple as that. Without them, the USA would not exist. One of my favorite charities is The USO. The USO’s mission is to strengthen service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. Our service members and military families work tirelessly and make daily sacrifices all year long. When you are sleeping, when you are having family time, when you are at work, these people are protecting all of that.
FROM A HERO
This is exactly what I’m talking about and why I love The USO:
“The USO helped me to feel needed and took care of me during this rough deployment that took a toll on me. You always feel the most need for your family and friends around the holidays and the USO was that family! Thank you!”
Working During the Holidays
It’s not something we all truly appreciate or really think about, is it? It’s just always been. No matter what. But give it some thought for a little bit as you run around and go about your day. This holiday season, hundreds of thousands of service members will remain on duty, away from home. And they aren’t staying at the Four Seasons.
For service members stationed away from home for the holidays, this can mean missing precious moments and favorite traditions. They miss their kids and their spouses, and everything else we take for granted and may not even truly appreciate. Even the smallest reminder of home can have a huge impact. Now more than ever, they need your help to bridge the distance — to family, home and country.
USO Holidays
So, that being said, I am asking you to commit to giving. This year, while you enjoy your favorite holiday traditions, pause for a moment to show your support for those who remain on duty, protecting our nation. The USO asks all military supporters to join in as a Force Behind the Forces® and support its effort to connect service members and their families to home, no matter where they serve.

Ways You Can Help
Man, I get chills when I see that video. I just can’t get enough of it. I hope it made an impression on you too.
Here are easy ways to give a meaningful gift this holiday season to help our military heroes:
- Give toward a gift for good through the USO Wishbook at USO.org/Holidays. USO Wishbook is an online alternative giving catalog that offers donors a way to support the USO by purchasing symbolic gifts for friends and loved ones that help America’s service members and their families.
- Rally others to give via a USO Facebook Fundraiser. Host a fundraiser to rally other military supporters to help support our men and women in uniform, and their families, during a time they need us most. To learn more about starting a Facebook Fundraiser for the USO visit, USO.org/facebookfundraiser.
By contributing to the USO mission in these ways, military supporters are helping deliver the comforts of home to service members and military families around the world.
Do Your Part Today!!
Throughout the year, our nation’s service members are there for us. This is our chance to be there for them. Your support helps service members and military families know and feel that they aren’t alone and we stand behind them as a grateful nation.

Giving Tuesday is a great idea to give back to our community. USO did sacrifice a lot for protecting our country, and they deverve regonition and our contribution.
This is fantastic! Our servicemen and women sacrifice so much to serve this country. We should do everything we can to support them.
I think this is just about the best thing we can do to help support our troops. They do so much and sacrifice even more for our country.
That is such a nice option this holiday season. Thank you for providing the information.
What wonderful ways to give back! Those that protect our freedom definitely deserve some extra love, especially around the holidays.
Our service men and women definitely deserve anything and everything with what they do for our country. I love the idea of giving them ‘extra’ especially during the holidays as they normally have a Thankless job. Thank you for such a great post.
Love this topic. Our service men and women deserves everything especially this holiday season. Thanks for such a great post.
Aaahhhhh…this is the level of generosity I live for! All troops away from their loved ones deserve to be treated better. To whoever is donating, you are helping so much more than you can imagine.
Thank you for raising awareness! Our service men and women don’t get nearly enough support and they really need and deserve it! For those that can’t donate, thank your service member and pray for them. This country has our freedom thanks to the military.
This is amazing! Our service men and women deserve the best!
What a wonderful cause to give to! I love giving Tuesday. I wish we could all do it more often!
They really deserve this! We need to give back to their service. It’s very admirable.
Love this! Our servicemen and women give it all they have to sacrifice their lives for our country. We should do everything we can to support them.
Bravo Bill! Thanks again for bringing attention to a great cause. So proud of our soldiers.
It would be so nice to make their Christmas extra special especially since they’re away from home and wouldn’t be able to spend the Holidays with their families. Love that you can do something about it and help out! Let’s all spread the word.
This is the least we can do to thank our servicemen for their sacrifice. Spending Christmas away from family is so hard. I know because I have experienced 3 Christmases away from my family. USO is doing a very commendable act in uplifting the spirits of our brothers and sisters who are out there defending our freedom.
Great way to honor them. Especially around this holiday season.
We all need to pause for a moment every once in a while and reflect, support those who remain on duty, especially during the holiday season! USO´s mission is wonderful!
