Wow! It’s difficult to believe that I’ve been married to Vera for 10 YEARS today. It’s funny how life is and how memories are. Sometimes life seems to go by in a blur, sometimes it seems to drag.
No doubt about it…we’ve had our ups and downs. Everyone does, no matter what they say. That’s the beauty of that old joke…”We’ve been married 10 years, and never had a fight!” I mean, think about it…how perfect is that. It’s so absurd, it’s perfect. I think the problem today is nobody wants to deal with struggles…we’re all about us, about the moment, about pleasure and ease. Marriage is a tough road. Putting a man and a woman in the same house, raising kids, and making joint decisions is a tough thing to do. But, the good far outweighs the bad.
We have a great life, Vera is my best friend and partner in life and business. We butt heads often enough that I have permanent bumps, but it always seems to work out well in the end. We’ve been very blessed with great kids, a nice home, a good business, a great town with family and friends. It’s a good day and a happy day.
Here’s to another 50 years. All you can do is your best and give your spouse a break…remember they’re trying to do their best, too.
I wish everyone out there that’s married the same good days that I get to enjoy. Life is fleeting. I’m 35, been married a decade, have 2 kids and 2 dogs…It’s not a bad gig at all.
