2012 Has Been Eventful So Far

Well, we’re just into 2012 and we’ve had a few milestones, both good and bad.

12/30-1/1 Audrey (https://twitter.com/#!/AudreyMcClellanhttp://momgenerations.com/audrey/) and Matt McClelland came with their awesome 4 boys to stay for 2 nights.  We had a lot of fun, the kids had a crazy blast, and we got to ring in the new year with our great friends.

The last day of 2011 brought a new bedroom for Liam.  We painted his room dark blue and decked him out with sports-related pictures, sheets, etc.   He is loving it.  He cant’ stop jumping on the bed.  There’s much less room now since his room is quite small, but he seems to be in the room more than ever.  Success to be sure.  We even skipped to railing in favor of just leaving his crib/small bed mattress on the floor.  So far, batting a thousand in nights WITHOUT a plunge off the bed.

Vera hosted her first ever New Year’s Day party.  Her family came by, about 20 or so, and we had a good time.  It was pot luck, so people brought apps, main entrees, and desserts.  We were wiped so we catered Chicken Francese, Rigatoni a la Vodka, and Brussell Sprouts from a new place by us, http://passione-restaurant.com/.  The food was great and people had fun.  Success with little mess as we bought the fake plates and utensils that look just like real.  It’s crazy.

That day, Natalie lost (well more like yanked out) her first tooth.  She was so excited, it was crazy.  So many of her friends have lost 3, 4, 5 teeth, so know she’s part of the “big girl” club. The Tooth Fairy came with $1 in her special Tooth Fairy pillow (cute). There was some debate on the amount, but I think $1 is quite fair, no?

On top of all that, Natalie also came down with conjunctivitis, or Pink Eye.  NICE!  First time for a lot of things.  I think we caught it early, so the eye drops seem to be working already.  She was off from school today, so we’ll see how it goes.  We are washing and sanitizing everything in sight in the (hopefully not futile) attempt to contain the beast.  The doc is on hold ready to give Liam the drops on short notice!  We’ll see how it goes.

So, it’s not be a dull first few days of 2012 (last of 2011). I hope the good times keep going through for us and for you.  A happy and healthy 2012 to all.
