This is Caleb right before I go into the wipe the boogers from his face. You can’t really see it, but they are most certainly there. When he gets sick, it’s incredible how much is there. It’s there all the time, all day long. He doesn’t seem to give a darn that it’s drippng, into his mouth even. He has other thing to tend to. It’s hysterical…and speaking of hysterical, let’s just say he’s not a big fan of removing his new friends. And forget about the aspirator…that is an utter and complete disaster. You would think I was water-boarding him, or making him eat liver.
C’mon Caleb, just a quick wipe. Border line begging this kid. “No way, dude…get out of here” seems to be the response.
So we just go on, each day with a cold, trying to get quick wipes here and there, mostly with our fingers so he doesn’t see it coming. I think he knows, but it’s too late to do the swipe and jerk move he likes to much. I’m pretty sure this is one of those things you’ll look back fondly on and laugh…I think, or at least I tell myself that.
It’s still pretty odd though, wiping someone’s boogers and all. And why does he have this during the summer again?
