And In News That Should Not Be News News

by Bill Sweeney

Man, I wish I could snag 216 votes as easily as I did this board.

Why are we analyzing President Obama’s NCCA Men’s Basketball tournament picks? Isn’t this old? Haven’t we “been there, done that?” I mean, really, there are a few more important things I can think of. Is he angling for an ESPN analyst position come 2012? I just don’t get the celebrity of this president and his wife. How much PR and magazine covers can be run with them…for things that have nothing to do with politics or the way he is governing the country? I just don’t get it, and I don’t like it…whether I like hiim or not. I don’t think it’s the right thing to do. It’s like calling your parents Todd and Mary. Sure, it seems cool and refreshing, but it’s really just inappropriate and disrespectful of authority. Let him do his job, unencumbered but so many outside distractions and pop culture nonsense. If I want to read about Brangelina, I’ll go to www.imnotobsessed.com (shameless plug).

Here’s the “story” on Newsweek.
