The summer is here, so let the good times roll! Driving with the windows down, hitting the beach, grilling in the backyard, rocking the shorts and flip flops. With the warm weather (and the heat from that grill, baby) comes the insatiable desire for clean, crisp, refreshing beer. It’s a necessity to surviving those long, hot days, no? I can’t even imagine not having a sweet bottle or can of golden refreshment as I slave over a hot grill cooking up some ridiculously awesome brats, sausage, burgers, and steak.
With said summer, this 2015 I’ve been hitting up some of the world’s more fruity concoctions…and very solid one being Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy. As per leine.com, “A shandy is beer mixed with a little something extra like soda, juice or ginger ale. Leinenkugel’s® Summer Shandy® is a traditional weiss beer with refreshing natural lemonade flavor that makes it perfect for the sun-splashed summer months.” There you have it folks…beer and lemonade. That’s just ridiculous. Sure, it may sound a little odd to some people, but just really think about it and take it all in. Give the brew a chance. It’s the perfect balance of booze and non-booze…of wheat and citrus. It’s a great choice for the summer weather…hence it’s only around March-August.
Give it a shot and I think you’ll find it very refreshing, even if you think you are too manly to have a beer mixed with lemonade. Your practical, F the World side will shine through mightily and say…”um, dude…this isn’t so bad but, in fact, it’s pretty darn tasty.” You’ll be having another in no time…and you’ll be thanking me. Even if you don’t know it and it’s something that’s buried deep within our mind where no one can access it. Trust me.
