Established in 2007, GQ’s Best New Menswear Designers in America project works to advance and bring attention to up-and-coming American menswear designers. The recognized designers who were selected by GQ took part in a mentoring program led by GQ and Gap and have created looks for a limited-edition Gap collection. For the eighth year in a row, GQ has named the most brilliant new menswear makers in the country and with GQ’s guidance, they’ll each have an affordable new line coming to Gap stores this fall.
Very cool stuff, you have to admit. These kind of collaborations are just a fantastic way for the masses to get a taste of top design, and also for these brilliant designers to get their name out to the broader public. Well done GQ and Gap.
The 4 designers include (pictured above, clockwise from top left):
- M.Nii – Los Angeles
- Brooklyn Tailors – Williamsburg, Brooklyn
- En Noir – New York
- John Elliott + Co – Los Angeles

The collection, which showcases each rising designer’s signature spin on iconic menswear pieces, will be available starting September 30 at select Gap stores, as well as online at www.gap.com. It is also featured in a special 10-page advertising insert in the October 2014 issue of GQ.
