THICKE TO PERFORM AT FIRST-EVER ‘GENTLEMEN GIVE BACK’ CONCERT

We all know that the art of being a gentleman is slowly slipped away in today’s society. It’s ok, you can admit it. Thankfully, the gents at GQ  and The Gentlemen’s Fund are trying to stave off total death.  The sixth annual Gentlemen’s Ball will recognize a handful of modern gentlemen who not only looks and act the part, but are also champions for some of today’s most essential causes:

  • Robin Thicke, for his work with Doctors Without Borders
  • Justin Bartha, for his commitment to The Art of Elysium
  • Peter Facinelli, for his support of Recycle Across America
  • Sam Trammell, for his involvement with Oceana

The guys are looking slick:

The men will be given Ambassador Awards presented by Nautica and BMW i at this year’s Ball, which takes place on Wednesday, October 23 at the IAC HQ, and will be hosted by Willie Geist. The evening’s Leader Awards, presented by Movado, will recognize Adam Braun, founder of Pencils of Promise; pop artist Romero Britto, who has long been donating his time, art, and resources to more than 250 charities; second grade teacher Jed Dearybury, who organized a marathon in Spartanburg, SC, to raise more than $13,000 for schools damaged by Hurricane Sandy; Curt Ellis, co-founder and CEO of FoodCorps; and Josh Zabar, a partner and curator at Summit, an events- and community-focused organization that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Leader Awards recipients were chosen by GQ’s advisory panel:  Charles Best, founder and CEO of DonorsChoose.orgNeil Blumenthal, co-founder and co-CEO Warby Parker and supporter of VisionSpring; JJ Ramberg, host of MSNBC Your Business and founder of GoodSearch.orgAnthony K Shriver, founder and chairman of Best Buddies International; Jake Wood, co-Founder of Team Rubicon.

Immediately following the Gentlemen’s Ball, Robin Thicke will perform at GQ’s first-ever Gentlemen Give Back concert at the Highline Ballroom.  The concert will be Thicke’s final New York City appearance of the year.  Tickets to this exclusive, one-night-only concert start at $100, and can be purchased at www.highlineballroom.com/gq.

Funds raised by the Gentlemen’s Ball and the Gentlemen Give Back Concert will benefit Oceana, Doctors Without Borders, The Art of Elysium, and Recycle Across America.
