Well, time is swooshing by as always. It’s my boy Liam’s 6th birthday today. Mind numbing how it flies by. I feel like it was yesterday going to the hospital, sorting the details of watching my then 2 year old baby Natalie with my parents, scurrying to get Liam’s nursery done the day before he came into the world.
It really puts it all into perspective, doesn’t it? To think that you were part of something so awesome and how much your life changed, for the better. Can you imagine life without your kids? Really, I know there are times when you would like to wish them away for a little bit as they wreck something, spill something, cry about something. But, even that, that’s the good stuff. That’s life. Life isn’t all Instagram pictures and cotton candy. While we can only hope that most of life is that, it’s the whole package that makes you who you are and your kids who they are. It’s an awesome thing, really.
So Liam (another William, 4th in a row) is now 6, Natalie, my little princess was 8 last month. And Caleb, my peanut is now 5 months old (and, shh…he’s slept until 7AM the last 3 nights). I’ve been married for 11 1/2 years and my 2 dogs, Jack and Jill, are both 11 years old (we got them 3 mos after we were married).
Life is good and days like this make it all the sweeter. The day is Liam’s so we’ll see what we can fit in before his 4PM kid party today. I am cranking out the work and so it Vera to have the whole day ahead of us for him. What a blessing it is for me to be able to work at home and have days like this.
