Liam and I were lucky enough to be invited to attend an NYCFC MLS soccer match at Yankee Stadium recently. Our amazing hosts were the Hard Rock Cafe located inside Yankee Stadium. Yes, there is a Hard Rock inside Yankee Stadium, and it’s just about as awesome as you would think it would be. It’s a great spot…with access even if you are not attending a Yankee or NYCFC game. It’s literally the perfect place to go and enjoy yourself before, during, and even after the game. Why arrive and leave during the crush when everyone else is when you can hang out and relax while eating, drinking, and being merry? It sounds like a silly question because it IS a silly question.

The Hard Rock is all about music, and there’s plenty of that there, but given it’s historic setting, it’s also all about the sports. TVs everywhere with all the games and game-related specials to match the excitement on the field. Two of my favorites are the “7th Inning Sip” during baseball games (beginning at the seventh inning) and the “91st Minute” at the end of all NYCFC soccer games.

During each happy hour, fans will receive discounts on drinks and ½ off on appetizers when they dine at the bar or outside patio area. Here are the details on the awesome:

“7th Inning Sip” at Hard Rock Cafe Yankee Stadium:

  • When:  Happy Hour begins at the start of the 7th Inning
  • What:   Appetizer and Drink specials include:
    • ½ off appetizers (wings, tupelo, skins, nachos); excluding Jumbo Combo and Flatbreads
    • $3 Domestic Beers
    • $4 Import Beer
    • $4 Wines
    • $5 Cocktails (single liquor/mixer)

“91st Minute” at Hard Rock Cafe Yankee Stadium

  • When:  Happy Hour begins at the end of the match
  • What:   Appetizer and Drink specials include:
    • ½ off appetizers (wings, tupelo, skins, nachos); excluding Jumbo Combo and Flatbreads
    • $3 Domestic Beers
    • $4 Import Beer
    • $4 Wines
    • $5 Cocktails (single liquor/mixer)

Liam and I swung by the joint before the game for a little beverage and some apps, then after the game we enjoyed the 91st Minute for some delicious dinner, dessert, and drinks. All of the food, from the flatbread to the burgers and brownie sundae was really great and perfect for some game day love. The beers were also excellent, with some craft and local brews available to enjoy. And it you like wings, literally some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Great meal, perfect.

The Hard Rock is open year-round, even when there are no games being played, so the awesome deals keep coming even during the fall!! Maybe if you are in the Bronx to check out the Bronx Zoo, you can swing by Hard Rock and gobble up it’s newest Octoberfest burger and beer pairing? These seasonal menu items will be on tap at Hard Rock Cafe Yankee Stadium and Hard Rock Cafe New York beginning Monday, August 29 through Sunday, October 2, including:

  • Samuel Adams OctoberFest Schnitzel Burger – lightly breaded cutlets of tender pork schnitzel, layered with a Samuel Adams OctoberFest-infused beer cheese sauce, bacon and apple sauerkraut, Dijon mustard, lettuce and tomato, served on a pretzel bun; guests can pair their burger with a cold glass of Samuel Adams OctoberFest beer
  • Baked Soft Pretzels – served with sides of Samuel Adams OctoberFest-infused beer cheese sauce and mustard

I love how relaxed this place is, it’s definitely a place where you sit with family or friends and just talk about the game while you enjoy some good food! Everything looks awesome and I’m sure sports fans will love hanging out here!
