I’ve been working at home and helping take care of the kids for 3 years now. I love it. That being said, there is many a morning where it’s just a little crazy, a little manic if you will. There’s a number of reasons why mornings can be crazy. Let’s have a look-see:
- I feel bad waking up the kids too early. They get up fairly early at this point, but I always get the feeling that another 15 minutes would really be fantastic.
- Finding a balance can be tough. I want them to have fun and be kids. Enjoy life. That’s what it’s about at 6 and 4 years old, no? But finding when to say “enough is enough” is always a tough one. I don’t want to be a drill sargeant, but I do want to have well-behaved, disciplined children.
- Being a little bit OCD in the way I would like things done. They have to do certain things in certain ways. That’s that.
It’s been getting much better and less hectic and they get older and as I get more of the hang of it all. It’s a challenge, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Though some mornings, that may be up for debate.
