A Glass a Night?

Every year there’s a discussion surrounding wine and whether it’s good to indulge in or not, be it the best red wine or white wine. While the consensus is that drinking one glass of wine per day is healthy, others still are on the bandwagon that any alcohol consumption is unhealthy. Whether you feel like wine is a benefit or not to your life, I am sharing my 5 reasons that I feel are benefits to drinking wine. Remember, drink the wine you love, it doesn’t have to be the best white wine or the best red wine.

Mad Antioxidants

White wine can surely provide your body with some positive antioxidants. When asking about helping cure cancer or keep it away, food and drinks rich in antioxidants are a great benefit. White wine has more antioxidant properties than even the best red wine, so if you want to indulge in a glass of wine every day remember that you’re thinking of your health by inputting more antioxidants into your body.

Immune System Boost

Moderate alcohol consumption can keep your immune system slightly boosted. While the keyword here is moderate, one glass of wine per day will help boost your immune system but you should continue to take your daily vitamins. Wine at a moderate level will truly help to boost your immune system so that you don’t get sick as easily.

Keeps Bones Strong

While you can argue if wine will help your bones stay strong, some research has proven that daily moderate wine drinking does help with bone density. As we age, our bones become brittle and while we can use extra calcium to help, wine does the trick too. The moderate consumption of any red wine, not only the best red wine, provides the minerals that help keep your bones strong.

Relax, Your Mind, Man

A glass of wine can go a long way to relax your mind and body. Again, this isn’t about getting drunk or even buzzed. Consuming a glass of wine before bed will help you to relax your mind from a stressful day. This relaxed state of mind will continue throughout your body to make you fall asleep easier after a stressful day.

Getting Social

Most people like to enjoy a glass of wine with another person. When you enjoy a glass of wine, you are more relaxed and able to carry on a nice conversation. It just works so well and will lead to even more great times with friends! Of course, don’t forget to make some awesome appetizers/small plates to nosh on when you are imbibing. That never hurts any situation.

Have No Fear

Obviously, wine doesn’t replace the need to see a doctor on a regular basis or to take medicines that you need to take for your health. If you are allergic to sulfites, have no fear…you can get help! I you are worried about opening a bottle and not finishing it, have no fear…there’s help for that, too!

Drinking a glass of wine each day will ultimately be a good addition to your health and social needs! Just please be sure to drink responsibly.
