DIY Champ Challenge – Mount That TV and Hide Those Wires

DIY Time

Do you love DIY projects? Do you have a flat screen TV to hang on your wall? Whether you love projects or not, sometimes you just got to do what a man’s got to do. I think that’s called a “Honey-Do” list today, right? However you feel about getting that job done, maybe it’s time you thought about doing something about that list! Procrastination never works, believe me. I’ve tried it many, many times. I digress. Back to business.

Let’s Get Mounty

When you are ready, willing, and able to start those jobs on your house, you have to go in with a solid plan. Take the TV mounting, for example. You have to get a solid bracket that looks good, find a great spot on your wall, and make sure all of those, seemingly, 100s of different wires are hidden away so the new setup looks clean and fresh. The quickest, easiest, and best way to do this job and not make yourself nutso would be to install the Legrand in wall power kit behind your flat screen TV.  The kit is amazing, really. Simply put, you get easy routing of TV power and HDMI cable in-wall, with no electrical wiring required.  None. Learn more on this product  by watching this quick video:

It seems pretty easy to work out, right? Well, I have to say, IT IS actually pretty easy to work out. I’m not contractor or electrician, but I used this bad boy and got the job done. The TV and various electronic components are all working great, the TV is mounted, and those unsightly wires are all hidden nicely right inside the wall. It’s awesome – it’s so clean and professional looking, I love it. This DIY project really comes out well and gives you a great sense of accomplishment, believe me.

We have this system in our living room and we love it! It’s so nice to not see a bunch of wires coming down from the television. It looks SO much better.

I could definitely use something like this. Right now we have so many wires that it looks like we are running all her electronics through the back of our TV LOL.

I love that you can’t see any cords! I need to show this to my husband so that he can do this with the one in our bedroom. There’s cords hanging down below it and I just hate it.

Yes! We have several televisions that we need to do this with but we didn’t know how. Thanks for sharing!

This is exactly what I need. My husband is always complaining about all the wires. Looks like I know what to get for him now.

That is what we need because without a doubt, those wires are not only eye sores, they are always in my way whenever I clean that part of the house.

It looks good, I love having a mounted TV on the wall. The wires look messy and take away from the look. Hiding them in the wall is a win for sure.

Truth be told I didn’t take this campaign on because it is my least favorite thing to do, and I also had concerns as a renter about putting holes in the wall and my ability to lift the TV. Since my TV is still pretty new I was afraid to take chances, plus I get the need to move furniture around all the time so I thought I should keep it on the console table so when I get the urge to move stuff around I won’t have to worry about not liking where the TV is mounted. I would like to hide the wires, but wall mounting is a commitment I am not yet ready for. 🙂
