Vera and I went away for a week sans kiddies and had a blast. We took a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise on the Caribbean Princess from Princess Cruises. We ate, drank, and made merry for the week. It was a lot of fun and just a little bit different than, say, a trip with the kids in tow. Just a little bit…slightly.
We left out of a balmy Ft. Lauderdale and headed due west. It’s the first time I’ve gone that way (east would be places like Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic). We hit Grand Cayman, Roatan (Honduras), Cozumel (but really the Riviera Maya), and the Bahamas. It was a great trip and such a great escape. It’s important to do things without the kids once in a while. Not to be a downer (or an upper), but soon enough the kids will be gone and it will just the two of you again…don’t lose too many years.
The experience was really great…good food and drinks, wonderful service, great excursions…what more could you ask for? And by the way..I sang Caribbean Queen the Entire time…no really…the entire time.
