Natalie is pretty much over the pink eye demon, so she returned to school after a 12 day hiatus.
It was tough getting her up and on the go. She’s so used to lounging. She loves going to school, but man…she was in the lazy days rut. First, it was an effort to wake her up. Then, to get her to focus on her normal routine…eat, vitamins, drink, wash-up, dress, go. I know, it’s not rocket science, but when you have a kid that has been lounging for 12 days and has been sick, it’s like pulling a hungry lion away from a filet mignon.
I try not to yell, I truly do…but there are too many times when that is the only option that seems to work. I definitely try to stay away from threats of bodily harm, but isn’t that such an attractive option sometimes. So, after saying some things about 3 times each…they stern, semi-yell, all-business voice came out. And it worked. You can’t argue with success.
After all was said and done, we hit the doors of the school, friend Sarah meeting her there in tow, at 8:30 on the dot. Puff, puff…not a bad days work.
Wait…it’s only 8:30?
