The Family and I Can’t Wait to Enjoy Thomas Land™ in Edaville Family Theme Park

by Bill Sweeney

Caleb is 4 and he’s a big-time car and train guy. He loves it to no end. He’s also a big amusement park kid. He tries so hard to keep up with his brother and sister and he does a pretty good job at it!! He just tries to so hard to be big like them, but he never forgets to have a ball. Plus everyone else around him gets so wrapped up in his joy and excitement, we all have a blast, too.

You could imagine how quickly we jumped at the chance to be guests to enjoy the fantastic Thomas Land that just reopened at the Edaville Family Theme Park!! We haven’t told the kids yet, it’s going to be an epic surprise. Caleb, especially, will completely flip out!!

Thomas Land™ is set in a gorgeous part of New England at Edaville USA, covering 11.5 acres and is rocking out with 11 rides based on Thomas & Friends and the Island of Sodor featuring beloved characters such as Thomas, Percy, Diesel, Toby, Cranky the Crane, Harold the Helicopter, and more. Guests can visit familiar destinations around the Island of Sodor like Tidmouth Sheds, Knapford Station, and Brendam Docks. Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway on the Island of Sodor, will be on site to greet and take photos with guests. Seriously cool stuff. The pics look spot on, like the show has come to life!

I mean, to put it in perspective, while Caleb was teeny tiny and still taking a bottle before he went into his crib, he and I would chill out watching Thomas & Friends on-demand. He would sit in my lap, chugging his ba-ba and loving life. When he finished, he just about passed out asleep. It’s truly one of my favorite memories of when he was really little. This is going to be a special weekend. Maybe even more for me than anyone else.

Seriously, can’t you see your little ones getting excited like this?? Attractions at Thomas Land will feature a 20-minute long scenic train ride on a life-sized Thomas the Tank Engine™ replica, and theme park favorites including a roller coaster, drop tower, Ferris wheel and much more. Check it out:

A Top 3 Winner for Best New Amusement Park Attraction as chosen by readers of USA TODAY and 10Best, Thomas Land™ is a world of imagination and wonder where both the young—and the young at heart—can discover the magic of Thomas & Friends™. We just can’t wait to go. It’s going to be great.

Edaville USA is a family amusement center entertaining families for over 70 years. Owner Jon Delli Priscoli purchased Edaville and its 250 acres in 2002. There have been many exciting updates under his ownership including the reconfiguration of the entire narrow gauge rail course and the incorporation of vintage amusement rides such as an antique carousel and an illuminated Ferris wheel. Other attractions throughout the year include, the National Cranberry Festival, which features a train ride through the fall cranberry harvest, and the Christmas Festival of Lights offering rides through brilliantly lit displays in the winter. Thomas Land will be Delli Priscoli’s biggest undertaking at Edaville to date.

Thomas Land sounds like a lot of fun for any family with younger kids. My kids were absolutely obsessed with Thomas when they were young, but I don’t think this was around then. =(

Thomas the Train comes to our area. I have always wanted to take my youngest to see it but haven’t done it yet. I will have to check his schedule.
