There are all sorts of fancy tools and gadgets, as well as time-consuming processes, that promise to help coffee drinkers find (and sip) the best coffee, every day. Some are good, some are great, some are not so great. But one that makes some amazing coffee with minimal commitment is the French press. It’s a relatively simple and inexpensive investment that doesn’t take a lot from you. From start to finish takes about five minutes or so.
What it does take is good coffee beans (something any coffee devotee would want anyway) and boiling water. The French press works by letting the mixture brew, then removing the grounds to leave just a lovely caffeinated, hot batch of coffee for you to drink. It’s easy and effective and it just might be the most delicious cup of really flavorful coffee you’ve ever had.
There are no plug-ins and very little care – just washing the press thoroughly – that’s needed for a French press. Grinding coffee beans makes the best coffee, but that’s relatively easy too.
