Dad, The Action Star
Reading these books, especially The Bourne Initiative, really got me thinking. As awesome as these stories are and how great the world-saving exploits of Jason Bourne is, I have to say that I think I may be an even more amazing hero. I mean, I do it all, and I do it each and every day. There’s no hiatus between books or movies for me. There’s no rest for the weary. There’s no off switch. I’m always on, always locked in, always doing awesome dad stuff. And let me remind you, dad stuff is awesome. So awesome.
Let’s just think about what I do in my normal day. Now, remember, this is all in addition to the magic that I create on a daily basis with Guy and the Blog. Let that sink in…in addition to all of that. Oh yeah, I know. Anyway, I digress. Let me get back to business. How I’m more of an action star than Jason Bourne. Let’s just go through a few examples.
Bill vs. Bourne – The Showdown
- Jason Bourne cleans the world of evil villains bent on world destruction. I clean the sink of dirty dishes bent on stinking up the kitchen
- Jason Bourne drives sweet sports cars, private planes, and other super spy vehicles. I drive a black SUV loaded up with kids back and forth to soccer, dance, swimming, playdates, and school.
- Jason Bourne is a lethal weapon that knows how to take down an entire gang of criminals in one massive battle. I know how to put three kids down for bed each night in 30 minutes or less.
- Jason Bourne is at the absolute peak of condition a human can be in. I can do 40 push-ups…in a row.
- Jason Bourne is an expert at using the most advanced, most cutting edge and highest of hi-tech devices that only the US government even knows about. I can really work my iPhone 7 Plus like a complete champion.
Well, I think that’s enough said. Bill vs. Bourne has a clear winner…and the winner’s name is not Jason. Debatable…probably not. As you can see, it’s 5-0 right now, I’ve barely scratched the surface. Anyway, as dominant a performance as I just showed, I still love the series and the new book. I’m psyched to get into this one real soon.

Any man who does dishes is FAR superior to every action star! I love it when my husband helps out.
You know it! If they ever release a movie of Jason Bourne doing housework, you might have a contest, but until then, you are FAR superior!
I love this post! This is so fun! My husband is a huge Jason Bourne fan too, and I agree with Stacie. Any man that helps out is far superior to any action hunk!
This was such a fun read! Majority of blogs focus on mommy issues, and how hard it is to be a SAHM, but we must acknowledge that there are dads out there that help out with the housework and with raising kids. This just proves that you don’t need a cape to be a super dad!
A man who does the dishes, helps with laundry or helps with dinner is definitely a gem. I’m lucky enough to be married to one like that. 🙂
I personally have not read the books but I did enjoy the movies. I’m sure there are far more exciting parts in the books though. This sounds pretty intense! It appears that Bill takes the cake though!
You are one amazing dad and husband. There are but a handful of men who would willingly do what you do and be proud of it. My brother in law should be given a Best Dad and Husband award. Even if he works a full time job, he still manages to get home and make dinner for the family because my sister works nights.
