Christmas Stories for Children

Gift Giving Season

Are you looking for a great Hanukkah Book or new Christmas Stories for Children this holiday season? Pick a Pine Tree by Patrica Toht, Dasher by Matt Tavares, and The Hanukkah Magic of Nate Gadol by Arthur A. Levine are some great children’s book gift ideas that I highly recommend.

We are a week into December gift giving season. Hanukkah is just around the corner and Christmas is just over two weeks away! Why not give the gift of reading to further strengthen the joy of the holidays?

Toys, video games, clothing, Christmas gifts for men, electronics of all kinds! It can all make your head spin. There are so many choices for Christmas and Hanukkah gifts out there, think outside the box a little bit! Yes, outside the box. Today, a good quality book is kind of outside the box. It’s not the first thing people think of, but perhaps it should be.

Check out these Children’s Holiday Books

Children’s holiday books really are wonderful ways to celebrate the season. I know your kids will love to get these great new books this year. Watch their eyes light up as they sit down and read, a great new Hanukkah book and wonderful new Christmas stories for children!

Hanukkah Magic of Nate Gadol

I love a good origin story. I also love creative and warm new takes on classic topics and events, being respectful of those stories that have proceeded it. Well, if you are looking for a new twist on the origins of Hanukkah or maybe a new protagonist for your kids to learn about and enjoy, I have a great book for you! Hanukkah Magic is a holiday story that’s a new and magical explanation of why American Jewish families give gifts on Hanukkah.

It all began in 19th century New York thanks to a loving spirit named Nate Gadol. Nate worked behind the scenes with Santa to help families in need! This holiday story is perfect for Christian and Jewish families alike and the illustrations are wonderful. I mean, they are even speckled with gold throughout! This hardcover children’s Jewish holiday book is great for kids 5 to 8 years old.

Pick a Pine Tree

Who doesn’t love stories about finding the perfect Christmas tree? This year was the first time my family and I went out and cut down a real tree to bring home. It really was amazing. A new annual tradition to be sure.

The most fun we had was wondering about the farm, trying to pick out the perfect tree. So many different sizes and shapes, the choices seemed endless. It was a great time and we absolutely loved it! The magic of it all and the festive feeling of the day was fantastic and unlike anything else we have done!

After getting that perfect tree home, it’s time to decorate! We love digging out boxes jam-packed with ornaments and tree trimmings, each with memories and symbolism from experiences past. We get a new ornament any time we go on vacation, for example. Next, string the tinsel and turn on those twinkling lights to make it all perfect. This story is a beautiful celebration of family, friends, and the holiday season that is as magical and merry as we all hope it will be.

The book is loaded with rhyming text that just screams Christmastime joy and excitement! This hardcover holiday Christmas tree book (featuring full page pop-up Christmas Tree on the final page) is ideal for ages 3 to 7 and is sized to be a perfect stocking stuffer. No tree required!

Dasher

I have a second, great new origin story to share with you! And this is a good one. I mean…who doesn’t love just about any story about Santa and how the jolly old elf gets his impressive work done each and every year? This book is all about everyone’s favorite flying reindeer…without a light up nose! Dasher, one of Santa’s original reindeer, has some story to tell! You will never believe it, but your kids will love to hear about it.

Dasher is an adventurous young reindeer longing for a different life from her current one in the traveling circus. It’s hot and grueling life, not the snowy, wondrous one she craves.  After risking it all and leaving the circus behind, Dasher meets a nice man named Santa (ever heard of him?) and the rest is history thanks to a very powerful Christmas wish!

Dasher is a perfect Christmas Eve read-aloud, celebrating magic and family! This hardcover Holiday children’s reindeer book is perfect for kids ages 4 to 8.
