Amazon Echo Dot Kids Edition - family time 2

Alexa Love

We are Amazon Alexa people. Plain and simple. I’m not entirely certain when we got our first device, but it’s been all-in, full speed ahead ever since. From Amazon Echos to Echo Dots to speakers, TVs, Echo Show, Amazon Fire Sticks, and sound bars with Alexa built-in, we just love the tech and we love the all the it offers. It’s like living in the future (think the Jetsons) but today. The best part, so many of the Amazon-branded products are such a great value, we don’t mind having more than one! Case in point, the outstanding new Echo Dot Kids Edition!!! We love it and that’s why I’m so happy to partner up with Amazon on this! This post was sponsored by Amazon as part of an Ambassador Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

Super Smart & Kid Friendly

I love tech and I love smart home tech in particular. It just makes the day-to-day a little but easier. While the kids basically are up with all of this tech, I also worry about all they have access to via the vastness of the internet. It can be a dangerous and crazy place with so much to see and do that I do not want even adults to do, let alone my (or anyone’s) kids! That’s why I seek out just about every type of tech, app, or whatever that’s out there to limit their exposure to all that is age inappropriate. Making that part of tech easy is something I very much welcome, even crave!

Dun, dun, dun, dah… Echo Dot Kids Edition and Fire HD 8 Kids Edition tablets to the rescue!!

Kids Edition

Echo & Alexa are awesome for everyone in the family in so many ways, but I love them even more when it’s tailored for kids eyes and ears! Echo Dot Kids Edition is built from the ground up for kids. This kid-friendly, kid-centric Alexa experience sports some impressive parental controls with a parent dashboard, so I don’t have to worry about my kids using it when I’m not around. I almost can’t put a price on that level of comfort.

As much as I thought I knew about Alexa, there’s just so much to know. Prime example: when I started enjoying the Echo Dot Kids Edition with my family, I discovered the wonder and awesomeness of Amazon FreeTime on Alexa! Have you heard about this? It’s awesome, and the kids are so into it. Let me explain.

FreeTime

Echo Dot Kids Edition also includes the best parental controls with FreeTime on Alexa. What does that mean? Parents select which services and skills kids can use, turn off voice purchasing, and more. It just let’s you decide what your kids can and cannot access via Alexa. Less access, less worry, right?

Parents can also block explicit song lyrics with Amazon Music, which is a huge thing for me. I know I’m a square, unhip, whatever, but a lot of the stuff around today is really not what I want my kids listening too. This really helps me limit that unwanted exposure. I’d like to keep them as young as I can for as long as I can.

Unlimited

FreeTime Unlimited on Alexa includes over 300 Audible kids’ books, kid-friendly, ad-free radio stations and playlists, character alarms, and premium Alexa skills that kids will love. FreeTime Unlimited on Alexa is available also available on Echo devices, including Echo, Echo Plus and Echo Spot starting at $2.99 per month. And, families that already subscribe to FreeTime Unlimited on Fire tablets or Android devices can enjoy FreeTime Unlimited on Alexa content at no additional cost. This is just a really great deal and value. There are so many things we pay for each month that aren’t nearly as good as this. Seriously.

Christmas Fun & New Traditions

Alexa is always packed with an amazing amount of features, or skills. Does your family make it a tradition to see as many family and friends as possible during the holiday season? Let Alexa help you organize errands and keep track of your busy schedule and to-do lists. Take a look!!

  • Alexa…
    • add cookie party to my calendar on December 16 at 7 p.m.
    • remind me set the table tomorrow night
    • where is the nearest Whole Foods? …Alexa, call them
    • add go to the grocery store to my to-do list
    • create a holiday dinner shopping list

Help your kids get into the holiday spirit through brand new holiday-themed content. The kids have been having a ball asking Alexa on Echo Dot Kids Edition things like:

  • Alexa…
    • call Santa!
    • open Disney Stories!
    • read my book
    • can reindeer fly?
    • open my Toy Box
    • what’s your favorite holiday cookie?
    • what’s your favorite holiday story?
    • open Disney Stories!
    • read a Christmas Carol!
    • tell me a winter story!
    • how many days until Christmas?
    • where’s Santa?

I mean, how fun is this?? I don’t want to look silly, but I have just as much fun with Alexa as they do. Oh, they Christmas fun we’ve been having. It’s been really awesome. So much good, clean, family fun. It’s perfect. It even comes in a kid-friendly (read able to be dropped) green foam cover. Bonus points, baby, bonus.

This is such a great gift idea! I love being able to gift tech that is safe and fun to kids. Plus, how fun is it for the kids to be able to give their own voice commands?

That Free Time option is great! I think it’s important to expose kids to safe tech that also maintains a balance. I have a couple of kids on my shopping list that are going to be so happy!

This is an excellent gift idea. I really want one for me this year. Is that wrong? Maybe Santa will put one under the tree. LOL. I too love smart technology and can’t wait to get my hands on one of these from Alexa so that I can see all the great things it does.

Echo Dot Kids is a perfect gift for both family and the kids and I cannot believe they even come up with holiday themed content. I am a fan of smart technology and Echo is so affordable to subscribe to it. I will definitely get one for my nephew.

We are a really big Alexa family! Two of my kids have echo dots and they use them constantly. For homework help, listening to music, and research. So great!
