I am all about doing my best to stay healthy and active with an active lifestyle that makes sense for me. Healthy and active can mean a lot of things to a lot of people, so I wanted to share some tips with you in making it easier, no matter how you want to go about creating your active lifestyle.
Wanting to Be Healthy and Active
What does an active lifestyle look like to you? Is it all about sports and being outdoors? Do you like to workout at a gym? How about eating as healthy as possible? If all of this is important, why is it so important to you?
These are questions with many different answers, solely based on your likes and what you can commit to. For me, there are a few ways I am trying to keep healthy and active. For one, I simply cannot commit to joining a gym and taking a number of classes every day. I just can’t fit it into my work and family schedule. I know that sounds like a cop-out (maybe it is, to a degree), but it’s true. My health needs to fit nicely into my life, but it’s easy once you get the hang of it! It’s important, so I make it work. Like everything else worthwhile, you figure it out and make it happen, right?
How I Try to Stay Healthy and Active
I love taking my 1 year old, very active dog, for long walks/jogs. He has so much energy, it’s almost insane. He never seems to get tired, but that’s all part of the fun and excitement. Everyone loves Tucker, and he’s a great reason to fit some exercise into the day!!! No matter the weather, he needs at least 2 long walks a day. Otherwise, he could explode!! Now that it’s cold, I am all about this super warm, comfortable, and durable Burton All Day Long Beanie.
Quick In-Home Workouts
I also try to ride my stationary bike and use some dumbbells to get some cardio and lifting in. Even if it’s for 20 minutes, it’s worth it! Eating Well, Intermittent Fasting
Finally, I really have been eating well! Low sugar, high protein, good carbs fit into an 8-hour intermittent fasting window! Sports and Games with Kids

Even some games of manhunt, freeze tag, and hide and seek can get the heart pumping!! This is all a lot of fun, plus it’s great quality time with them. It’s a win-win all around.
Staying Fit During the Holidays
Listen, I know you are busy. We all seem to be running around in so many directions these days. From work to the kid shuttle before, during, and after school. The minutes and hours in the day seem to fly by with no signs of slowing down. But hey, that’s what retirement may be for? I know one thing, that’s not for a very long time, so I just have to worry about getting it all done right now!!
Now that the holiday season is in full swing, it seems like the days fly by at complete light speed! Its crazy, but it’s fun, and I love it. You just have to appreciate that it’s life and that it’s what it’s all about!! Take a deep breath, collect yourself and go!
Making Best Use of My Time
For this reason, I am all about making the most of my time by doing a ton of personal and holiday gift shopping at Amazon. Put simply, Amazon is a lifesaver for me and my family.
