It’s Tech and Toy Season

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Or, at least, it’s that time of the year to really start buckling down, ripping open the wallet, and getting into some Christmas and holiday shopping lists. Oh, I know, it’s a lot to take in. The kids’ have lots and lots of ideas about that Santa could and should bring over o that sleigh of his. It’s aggressive, but it’s great. I love Christmas morning, it’s just something that’s so pure and so full of joy. I still remember it from when I was a kid. Getting up at 4AM, 5AM, 6AM…then it was time. Busting downstairs and just taking it all in before digging in. It was awesome and we try to give our kdis that same experience, even if it seems a bit over-the-top sometimes. It’s ok, they are only young once and we are fortunate enough to be able to do it.

This year was full of toys and tech, big time. In my ongoing search for the goodies, I have to recommend Best Buy’s Toy Catalog to you. It’s awesome! The breadth of the latest tech and toys is impressive. It’s a massive assortment filled with classic toys, tech toys, and more. You will be pleasantly surprised with what you can get all in one place.

My kids love tech, but we always encourage them to play with “real” toys, too. You know, the ones you can feel and touch. The ones that don’t require a touch screen. When the apps and TV shows are away, it’s time to play like I used to play! A real go-to is aways LEGO. We love LEGO since it really is all about creativity and imagination. It also incorporates those fine motor skills we all hope or kids develop as mich as possible. That why the LEGO Batman Batmobile is such a hit. We love Batman, so pairing that with LEGO is fantastic. How cool is it that they can build the Batmobile? It’s sick, and they love it as much as I do.

If LEGO is not your thing, I would highly recommend some old school, classic toys. Who better to do that than the famous FAO Schwarz? No one, that’s who? FAO Schwarz has been awesome for a very long time, and rightfully so. It’s great that Best Buy offers these great classics. I have a little crush on the The FAO Schwarz RC Classic Racer, I have to admit. The look, feel, and style of this great toy is a hit. It’s a real throwback, while still being loads of fun for the kids of today. Watch out for the dog!

If that’s not enough, how can you go wrong reliving that amazing movie scene from the classic movie BIG and picking up the FAO Schwarz Toy Dance Piano Mat XL?? Your kids will love stomping around, laying down some tunes. Let’s be honest, you’ll be doing it, too. Chopsticks anyone?

We are big fans of Lego. We love to see the new sets that are available each year. They’re great for imagination play.

My son is really into games like the Xbox and now he’s begging to get the Nintendo Switch. But even then, when we get him LEGO for Christmas, that’s usually the toy that gets more action lol He LOVES LEGO toys!
