I would love to know how people feel about the Olympic sport of Curling. I would have never thought this would be a sport, let alone a polular one, but it really seems like more and more people actually care about this. Is it because of deep seeded memories playing shuffleboard with Aunt Ethel at the Senior Center? Do people need to find a competitive brooming outlet? Really, tell me what you think here. I don’t have an issue with it per se. And, hey, if you can compete, find some form or fame, challenge, and happiness, God bless. But, is this really a sport that should be highlighted on an international stage, along with skiiing, skating, and hockey?
The US Curling Association (USCA) has a website, curlingrocks.com, that says there are over 13,000 members and over 135 clubs in America. I know there’s a Long Island Curling Club as of last year, and there’s even a dedicated curling facilitycalled the Ardsley Curling Club in Westchester County (just north of the Bronx).
I hate to admit it, but I think I would have fun doing this…
