Spring Has Sprung! How Will You Make The Most Of It? #EveryDayCare

I enjoyed being a part of the Every Day, Care project with Whirlpool® as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. The assignment was very broadly structured, so all options and ideas are my own.

I absolutely love the Every day, care™ Project with Whirlpool® campaign. It’s the best concept of any brand that I can think of and I can’t say enough great things about it. That being said…the winter thaw has commenced, the warm weather and sun is coming, and the kids are finally out and about like they love to be. The spring has sprung and with it comes a rebirth, a reawakening of life that may have been a little sleepy, a little dormant the last couple of months. I love the spring, it’s awesome to see everything come alive and to see the kids jump for joy when they can play in outdoor recess at school and jump rope and play basketball every day when homework is done. It’s also a great way to spend some quality time with the kids…crafts, reading, whatever works for you!!

Care is all about taking time out of your hectic schedule to spend the most and best time with your loved ones. To make them feel special, and to make their childhood something that they will remember lovingly and fondly forever. It doesn’t take all that much, just be a parent. Show them you care, show them you are interested, show them you are there for them and you love hanging out with them. We all have it in us, we just need to put some things to the side a little bit, even if it seems like it’s too much and there are too many deadlines looming. There’s always time to get things done, but your kids are kids only once and only for a short time. It flies by, as I can attest to personally…Natalie is almost 10 and it sometimes seems like I just became a daddy last week.

With my job, I get to spend at a lot more time with them now that I work at home, so I am a very lucky and blessed man. I try my best to take full advantage. I do as much with them as my work and time allows, and if it seems too much…I make due anyway. I just know that this is a big, huge part of my new job and new life (well, new since 1998). Showing a little bit of care in the tiniest of ways makes a huge difference for everyone in the family.

So, now that the good weather is here, and the kids will be looking for things to do during the days, weekends, and vacations…how do you plan on taking advantage of your time and showing them you care? If you are looking for different ways to spend time with the kids, especially when they are home during spring break or just to have some cool spring activities with the family, maybe it’s time for some games or crafts? Maybe some reading time? Who knows?

I know it seems too “old school” what with everyone loving their iPads, but the old ways are definitely not to be ignored. Working closely together with your hands, being creative, that’s still an amazing way to bond and to relate with your kids. They love it and you will love it too.

Vera and I (and the kids) try our best to come up with new things to do, it can be big or small. Often times, it’s something simple, something easy, but the kids remember it, they enjoy themselves, and they have a little reminder to take with them and maybe put away for later. You can make up your own amusement park rides, too!

Of course, we love to get away, too. If you have the time and the means, maybe the gorgeous spring weather and the time off from school is the perfect time to have a quick escape from the real world to somewhere you and the kids will love, something where everyone has tons of fun and you have those moments that make everyone crack a smile for months after the vacation is over! There are so many memories that come and so much to be learned and experienced on vacation. What better way to be “reborn?” Even if it rains…you’re spending time with your loved ones!

What do you like to do to pass the time with your kids? I’d love to hear it…and see it!!!
