How do you parent? What do you do or whom do you listen to for advice? How do you know what is good and what is bad? It’s a never ending saga, one that I doubt I will ever even come remotely close to figuring out. All we can do is our best, right?

Here’s some sage parenting advice or anecdotes to help you get through it all…kind of.

1) You have to admit..this is pretty accurate. Kung Fu parenting, ying and yang (source):

2) So. Many. Noisy. Things. Please, think about it before you buy. Safe gifts lead to sane parents (source):

3) There are certainly days for both, that’s for sure…but maybe a few more days like the right pic. Maybe. Be prepared for both and you’ll be, relatively, fine. (source)parenting-reality

4) While my kids aren’t driving, man is this true. They can’t seem to find their dirty clothes on the floor in front of them but can figure out a 256 page manual talking about calculus like Minecraft construction projects that would make any master architect blush. (source)

5) As tough as this is, it’s the truth. Be loving, be fair, but be a parent. I always say I’m your father and not your friend, but I love you more than anything. (source)

“If you have never been hated by your child, you have never been a parent.” –Bette Davis

6) At the end of the day, this is a pretty good sentiment, love and belief. Can’t really do much better than that. You don’t have to be “perfect,” just care. (source)

“My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.” –Jim Valvano
