How do you parent? What do you do or whom do you listen to for advice? How do you know what is good and what is bad? It’s a never ending saga, one that I doubt I will ever even come remotely close to figuring out. All we can do is our best, right?

Here’s some sage parenting advice or anecdotes to help you get through it all…kind of.

  1. This is a great one. Too many kids seem to care too much about nonsense, about material stuff, about nothing important. While we don’t practice what we preach nearly as much as I’d like, this is a great quote to parent by. (source)Fill you child's head
  2. This is a great one, too. I need to follow this a bit more. Yes, there needs to be structure and discipline, but maybe sometimes we pick a little too much, expect a little too many things that might not be all that important. (source)Be more positive to your kids
  3. This is pretty funny, actually. Be careful, people…you may raise a writer, or an angry blogger, which there are none of. (source)Better parent writer
  4. Well, I say this about 250 times a day. Is there anything wrong with that? (source)Because I said so
  5. Try to enjoy your kids as much as you can. They are who they are, and they won’t be kids for very long. Note to self. (source)Remember you have a kid
  6. It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men. – Frederick Douglass (source)
  7. The most important thing that parents can teach their children is how to get along without them. Frank Clark (source)
  8. I know I want to have children while my parents are still young enough to take care of them. – Rita Rudner (source)
