Every year, millions and millions of people commit to new resolutions. From eating better to exercising to getting more organized, the list is practically endless. People want to do better and feel better about themselves and the start of a new year seems to bring it all about. I guess it’s like being reborn in a way, with a clean slate ready to be written.

While I say and try to do as much as I can each year to improve myself, I am well aware that being too grand with my ideas won’t always lead to the best results. I think the best bet for me and for most people is to think of a few smaller, yet important changes and improvements that could really help you to live a better, healthier, and happier life. The more manageable the list of resolutions are, the better chance you have of actually sticking to them.

One very common resolution for me always seems to include eating healthier and drinking more water. Cut the carbs, eat more fruits and vegetables, stay away from the bad stuff. To go with that, drink less soda and drink more water. Drink water throughout the day, and that would help with the less eating part, too, right?? I try to drink as much water as I can, but sometimes I just can’t seem to drink as much as I would like to. Seriously, why is it so hard? Regardless of how much water you drink and use per day, I think it’s even more important to be drinking water that’s pure and clean. What good is drinking water that’s unfiltered and possibly contains harmful contaminants? It kind of defeats the purpose, doesn’t it??

Think about this – do you really know what’s in your water? Water goes on a long journey before it reaches our faucets. Along its path from source to treatment center through miles of decaying pipe, and then to your tap, contaminants have many opportunities to enter the water we drink. It’s such an important part of life, PUR has created a website to help you to out. KnowYourWater.com uses public water quality data received from the EPA to help educate consumers on the journey of water from source to treatment to your home’s tap, and allows users to easily learn what’s in their water. It’s really pretty amazing, I’ve even showed my kids the site. They’re almost as impressed as I am!

So, now that your mind is blown and you see exactly what is in your water, what are you going to do to make sure it’s safe for you and your family. Remember how integral water is to your life each and every day. It’s not just about having a glass of water. You need clean water to make coffee, tea, or other drinks like lemonade. Water is used in making soups and broths in these cold winter months. You use water to clean you cups and dishes, along with your fruits and veggies. We use water to fill our dog Jack’s drinking bowl and to fill the new 60-gallon fish tank we just got for Christmas. We used to use a ton of water to make Caleb’s formula, too. The list goes on and on. It should get you think about how really important awesome water really is.

For all of these uses, the Sweeney family is all about PUR water filters. These things are AMAZING. PUR is the authority on superior contaminant removal from your water, leaving it clean and safe and is dedicated now more than ever to giving consumers options to ensure they are drinking safer, cleaner water from their taps.
